Jose Maria Olazabal outlasted Greg Norman and Davis Love III to win his second Masters title on Sunday at the Augusta National Golf Club. Olazabal, who won his first green jacket in 1994, shot a one-under-par 71 in the final round and finished with a four-day total of eight-under 280, edging Love by two strokes and Norman by three. Olazabal, who battled back from a career-threatening injury in 1996, earned a first prize of $720,000. He has finished in the top-14 in nine of his last 10 Masters tournaments. Just when it looked as though Norman might finally redeem himself from three past failures at Augusta National by making a 30-foot eagle on the 13th hole to take the lead, Olazabal rammed home a birdie putt to tie. The rest of the day belonged to the 33-year-old Spaniard, who survived the frightening conditions by avoiding bogies over the final 13 holes. Bob Estes finished tied for fourth with Steve Pate at four-under. Estes carded an even-par 72 on Sunday, while Pate, who started two shots off the lead, finished with a one-over 73. Pate was right in it, one shot back at six-under after a birdie at 15, but he bogeyed 16 and 17 drop out of contention.
