Description: Marek Svatos scored two goals with a +2 in the Senators' 5-4 shootout loss to Atlanta on Sunday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: If you were looking for waiver-wire help for the last day of the week, chances are you didn't consider Svatos. That's not a surprise, considering that he had scored just one goal with no assists in 15 games as a Senator. The promise he one showed in Colorado (32 goals in his rookie season of 2005-06) now seems like a distant memory.

Description: Marek Svatos and J.P. Dumont are both expected to miss Monday's game against Calgary with injuries. Nashville Tennessean
Insight: Svatos has a lower-body injury, while Dumont has a neck injury. Tough guy Wade Belak will probably enter the Predators' lineup for Monday's game.

Description: The Nashville Predators have claimed Marek Svatos off waivers from the St. Louis Blues. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Insight: Svatos, who was signed by the Blues just a day earlier, needed to clear waivers because he was a free agent who signed during the season. Like their Central Division rivals in St. Louis, the Predators are in need of scoring help. Both Martin Erat and Steve Sullivan are sidelined, so Svatos should see top-6 minutes at least in the short-term with the Preds.

Description: The St. Louis Blues have signed winger Marek Svatos to a one-year contract worth $800,000 at the NHL level. TSN
Insight: Svatos was released by KHL club Omsk Avangard last week. With Andy McDonald, TJ Oshie, and David Perron all sidelined, the Blues need immediate scoring help. Svatos should earn top-6 icetime at least in the short term, but he could see his icetime dwindle as the injured Blues' regulars return.

Description: Marek Svatos has signed a one-year contract with Omsk of the KHL. TSN
Insight: Svatos was clearly not in the Avs' plans this season after he scored just 11 points (7g-4a) in 54 games last season. He did score 32 goals in 2005-06, so a year in Russia may help him to get his game back.
