Report: Redskins re-sign Grossman
Washington, DC (Sports Network) - The Washington Redskins have reportedly re- signed quarterback Rex Grossman.
According to the Washington Post, it is a one-year deal.
"I'm very excited to be a part of the organization still, and I'm looking forward to coming in, contributing and getting better," Grossman told the paper.
Grossman spent last season as a third-string quarterback behind Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins, but did not play a single game.
The 32-year-old Florida product started 13 games in the 2011-12 season and passed for 3,151 yards and 16 touchdowns with 20 interceptions. He also fumbled the ball eight times, losing five.
In 10 seasons with Chicago, Houston and Washington, Grossman has a 55.2 percent completion percentage and has thrown for 10,232 yards and 56 touchdowns with 60 interceptions.
Grossman also helped lead the Bears to Super Bowl XLI, but the team lost to the Indianapolis Colts 29-17. He went 20-for-28 with one touchdown but also had two interceptions and two fumbles.
