Detroit Pistons (25-44) at Utah Jazz (23-47), 9 p.m.
(SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Pistons have lost five straight and will try to end that slide Monday night when they visit EnergySolutions Arena to face the Utah Jazz.
The Pistons have dropped eight of their last nine and 13 in a row on the road. They haven't won as the visitor since Jan. 18 in Washington, but mercifully, this four-game road trip ends Monday.
On Saturday, the Pistons fell to the Los Angeles Clippers, 112-103.
Jonas Jerebko had a team-high 22 points for Detroit. Andre Drummond recorded 16 points with 12 rebounds, while Josh Smith and Greg Monroe each scored 12 in the setback. Brandon Jennings chipped in 19.
The Pistons trailed by 10 after one quarter, but won the second by nine. The third quarter went decidedly against the Pistons, 24-15, and Detroit never recovered.
"When we took care of the ball our movement was pretty good," said Pistons coach John Loyer. "We didn't move the ball to start the second half. They turned the pressure up defensively. That's what good teams do. We need to get better with that."
The Jazz ended a six-game losing streak thanks to the Orlando Magic. Utah bested the Magic, 89-88, in Salt Lake City on Saturday night, ending a three- game home slide.
Trey Burke buried a corner 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds left to lift the Jazz to victory.
Derrick Favors made a layup to cut the Utah deficit to 87-86 with 12.5 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Gordon Hayward then fouled Arron Afflalo, who split a pair at the line to make it a two-point game with 12.5 ticks to go.
Afflalo missed the second attempt and Hayward raced up the floor, drove the lane and skipped it out to Burke, who knocked down the trey for the lead.
"We were down two and Coach (Tyrone Corbin) wanted us to get a quick two," said Burke on the final play. "(Hayward) drove on the baseline and found me in the corner. (Victor) Oladipo closed in hard, and I just tried to get the ball in there as much as possible and it dropped."
Richard Jefferson paced Utah with 21 points, while Burke scored eight of his 17 in the fourth and Hayward contributed 14. Favors deposited an 11-point, 12- rebound double-double and Enes Kanter added 11 points with 11 boards.
The Jazz host Memphis to end this residency.
Utah has won four straight over the Pistons and 15 of the last 16 meetings.
Detroit has lost 10 in a row in Salt Lake City.
