Description: Mariners pitching prospect Danny Hultzen has a 2.78 ERA and a 25/6 K/BB in 22 2/3 innings at Triple-A Tacoma this season.
Insight: Hultzen was the No. 2 overall pick in 2011 and is currently ranked as the 18th overall prospect in baseball by MLB.com. He had a 1.19 ERA at Double-A in 75 1/3 innings, but he posted a 5.92 mark in 48 2/3 innings at Triple-A last year, so this strong start is a good sign.

Description: Mariners' No. 1 prospect Danny Hultzen struck out a career-high 12 batters while giving up a run on five hits in six innings on Wednesday for Double-A Jackson.
Insight: Hultzen was the No. 2 overall pick last season, one spot in front of the Diamondbacks' Trevor Bauer. Bauer has already been promoted to Triple-A, and Hultzen may follow him soon if he continues to pitch as well as he has. The lefty is 4-3 with a 1.78 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 50 2/3 innings. He needs to work on his command, as indicated by his 25 walks, but he clearly has dominant stuff -- opposing batters have a .146 batting average against him.
