Ko jumps to No. 2 in women's world rankings

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Lydia Ko earned her first professional win at the inaugural Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic on Sunday, and that continued her ascent in the world rankings to No. 2 this week.

Ko outdueled former world No. 1 Stacy Lewis to come from behind and capture her third career victory on the LPGA Tour. The 17-year-old Ko had won the CN Canadian Open in 2012 and 2013 as an amateur.

Inbee Park maintained the top spot in the rankings ahead of Ko, while Lewis held firm in third. Lewis would have taken the second spot in the rankings with her top-three finish if Ko had not won.

Suzann Pettersen fell two places to sit in fourth as Karrie Webb, Lexi Thompson, So Yeon Ryu, Shanshan Feng and Paula Creamer held firm from fifth through ninth.

Cristie Kerr and Anna Nordqvist swapped places, with Kerr inching up to 10th and Nordqvist falling a spot to No. 11. Na Yeon Choi, Michelle Wie, Angela Stanford, Catriona Matthew and Lizette Salas maintained their positions from Nos. 12 to 16.

I.K. Kim and Amy Yang exchanges places to sit in 17th and 18th, respectively, while Ha Na Jang moved up a place and Azahara Munoz dipped a spot to round out the top 20.
