Woods set to defend at Bridgestone Invitational

Tiger Woods cruised to a 7-shot win at the Bridgestone Invitational last year.
Akron, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The European Tour and PGA Tour join up this week for another installment of the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational.

Tiger Woods emerged victorious for the eighth time at this event last year, cruising to a 7-shot win over Henrik Stenson and 2012 champion Keegan Bradley.

Woods finished his final round at even-par 70, but it was more than enough as he ended his week at 15-under 265, while Stenson and Bradley both finished at 8-under 272. Stenson also shot a final-round 70 and Bradley carded a 3-under 67.  Full Story

Does Furyk have a closing problem?

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jim Furyk has been one of the most consistent players over the last 18 years on the PGA Tour. He has earned over $1 million in 17 of those 18 seasons and has won in 10 of those 18 years.

His resume is nearly Hall of Fame worthy, and I say nearly because the new Hall of Fame rules state that a player needs two or more major championships and Furyk is one short there.

Furyk has wins in 12 different years, but has only three years with multiple victories. And his last win was at the 2010 Tour Championship.  Full Story
