Habig grabs lead in Colombia

Barranquilla, Colombia (Sports Network) - Josh Habig carded a three-under 69 Friday to grab a one-stroke lead after two rounds of the Abierto Barranquilla Pacific, the Canadian Tour's season-opener.

Habig, who had the only round in the 60s on Friday, finished 36 holes at five- under-par 139.

Maximiliano Godoy, one of three first-round co-leaders, managed an even-par 72 and is alone in second at minus-four. Angel Romero also posted a 72 and was joined in third place at two-under-par 142 by Julian Colmenares (71).

Habig parred the first five holes at Barranquilla Country Club to start his round. He dropped in back-to-back birdie efforts from the sixth and turned at minus-three after a bogey on No. 9.

Around the turn, Habig birdied the 11th and 14th, both for the second straight day, to grab the lead at five-under. He parred the last four holes.

Godoy played the back nine first and posted a bogey on the 13th to go with a birdie on the par-five 18th. On the front nine, he had bogeys on the first and ninth, while his birdies were at four and six.

Cody Slover, who shared the first-round lead with Godoy and Alan Wagner, stumbled to a three-over 75 to slide into a share of fifth at one-under-par 143. He stands alongside Brad Fritsch (72), Oscar Serna (70), Sebastian Fernandez (74) and Juan Martin Hoyos (71).

NOTES: Wagner faltered to a five-over 77 to tumble into a tie for 11th at plus-one...The cut line fell at six-over-par 150 with 61 players moving on to the weekend.
