GAME NOTES: The Quinnipiac Bobcats will look to extend a two-game win streak as they travel to face the Iona Gaels in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Hynes Athletics Center.

Quinnipiac, which sits a half-game back in the MAAC standings entering this contest, is 6-2 in conference play this season, aided by wins in its last two outings. The Bobcats are coming off an 85-71 victory over Niagara.

Iona rebounded from a loss at Canisius with a win over Siena in the team's most recent matchup, 88-74, Sunday. Although the Gaels sport a worse overall record compared to Quinnipiac, the two teams are knotted in the conference standings at 6-2.

Quinnipiac leads the all-time series between the programs, 1-0. They met on Jan. 6 for the first time this season, and in their history, after a Jan. 2 game was postponed.

Quinnipiac dominated on the boards against Niagara last time out, outrebounding the Purple Eagles, 56-27. The Bobcats took a commanding 41-27 lead into the half and never looked back, racing to the win in MAAC action. Umar Shannon led the Bobcats with 16 points, while both Ike Azotam and Ousmane Drame each recorded double-doubles. Azotam netted 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while Drame scored 14 and pulled down 10 boards. Zaid Hearst was one rebound away from the third Bobcat double-double, scoring 14 points with nine rebounds.

Azotam has been a beast for Quinnipiac this season, averaging a double-double in the team's 17 games played. Azotam nets 16.3 ppg and grabs 11.4 rpg for the Bobcats, shooting 48.2 percent from the floor. Drame averages 12.6 ppg and 9.8 rpg, while Hearst chips in 13.6 ppg and 7.9 rpg. The Bobcats average an astounding 47.5 rpg and 77.5 ppg.

Iona only trailed Siena for 22 seconds in its last matchup before gaining a lead and downing the Saints on Sunday. Tre Bowman scored a team-high 25 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Isaiah Williams scored 20 and added six rebounds of his own. Sean Armand contributed 11 points and David Laury scored 10 to round out the double-digit scorers for Iona. The Gaels connected on 54 percent of their shots from the floor.

Armand leads the team with 18.6 ppg on 48.4 percent shooting from the field. His 22 steals leads the Gaels, and 66 total assists is second only to A.J. English, who checks in at second on the roster in scoring this season with 17.6 ppg. Bowman nets 13.8 ppg - good for third on the team - on 51.9 percent shooting. The Gaels average 83.1 ppg, but also give up an average of 80.2 ppg to their opponents.

Both teams will be fighting for the top spot in the MAAC in this one. Quinnipiac already has a head-to-head win this season over Iona, 86-74, on its home floor. The Bobcats, though, are one of the nation's top rebounding teams and have the players that can hardly be handled in the paint.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Quinnipiac 82, Iona 76
