GAME NOTES: The Richmond Spiders return home to face the Dayton Flyers this afternoon in Atlantic 10 Conference action.

The Spiders wrapped up a four-game road trip with a 77-74 overtime win against the Fordham Rams last Saturday.

Junior Kendall Anthony's 3-pointer with 13 seconds left was the difference, as Richmond ended a two-game slide and won for the third time in five outings. Anthony, who scored 13 points, broke a 72-72 tie with a trey from the right corner, and Derrick Williams made two free throws to ice the win as the Spiders improved to 11-6 overall and 1-1 in the A-10.

Tonight's game marks the opening of the new Robbins Center, which underwent a $17 million renovation this offseason.

Cedrick Lindsay leads the Spiders and is second in the A-10 in scoring with 19.2 ppg. In his last six games, the senior is averaging 20.8 ppg. Anthony is second on the team is scoring with 13.1 ppg. The junior has scored in double figures in nine straight games, averaging 15.8 ppg during that stretch.

Richmond has relied on strong defense this season, holding the opposition to 63 points or less in regulation in eight of the last 11 games, and 11 of the 17 games this season. Overall, the Spiders defense is allowing 65.5 ppg, which ranks third in the A-10. The Spiders are second in the conference in field goal percentage defense (.399).

The Flyers also recently defeated Fordham, topping the Rams in an 80-68 final on Wednesday night.

Devin Oliver tallied 16 points and nine rebounds, and Vee Sanford scored 16 off the bench to lead the Flyers, who have won four of their last five outings and improved to 1-1 in the A-10.

Khari Price scored 15 points and Dyshawn Pierre added 10 points and six rebounds against the Rams, as Dayton won for the 13th time in 17 outings this season.

UD was ahead 39-36 at halftime before zipping out on an 8-0 run to start the second half. The Flyers hit five of their first six 3-point attempts in the second half, and eventually built their lead to double digits.

The Flyers are averaging nearly 77 ppg this season and are led in scoring by Jordan Sibert's 12.4 ppg. Oliver adds 11.8 ppg and a team-best 7.4 rpg for UD, which allow only 66.9 ppg to the opposition.

Richmond, which is 6-2 at home this season, has won four of the last five and seven of the last 10 against Dayton, which is 3-1 on the road this season.

This will be a good one between a pair of teams tied in the A-10 standings. Expect the homecourt advantage to be enough to lift Richmond to victory, but it won't be easy.
