GAME NOTES: The Davidson Wildcats shoot for their sixth straight victory when they take on the struggling Wofford Terriers in Southern Conference action on Saturday night.

Davidson, which owns the best record in conference play and is in first place in the South Division, is coming off a 71-51 rout of Samford on Thursday. De'Mon Brooks scored 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field, while Jake Cohen added 14 points, seven boards and three blocks, and Chris Czerapowicz and Nik Cochran scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

In conference games, Davidson is outscoring its opponents by 14.9 points. The Wildcats, who are averaging 72.1 ppg, are also averaging 8.5 3-pointers made per bout and are shooting a conference-best 37.1 percent from beyond the arc. They're also the top free throw shooting team in the nation by making 80.2 percent from the stripe. Cochran is the country's top free-throw shooter, making 73 of his 77 attempts (.948) this season.

Brooks leads the Wildcats in scoring (14.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg). Cohen (13.4 ppg) and Cochran (10.0 ppg) are also in double figures for points. Cochran is shooting 45.5 percent from 3-point range, which leads the conference.

The Terriers have lost two in a row and five of their last six overall. That includes a 69-63 road loss to The Citadel on Thursday. The Terriers were paced in that contest by Karl Cochran with 15 points, but he shot a mere 6-of-17 from the floor, including 3-of-12 behind the 3-point line. Spencer Collins accounted for 14 points and Lee Skinner tacked on 12 off the bench.

Karl Cochran is leading the team in scoring with 15.5 ppg, while Skinner paces the squad with 7.3 rpg and totals 10.7 ppg as well. Wofford is first in the SoCon in scoring defense and is giving up only 61 points, but the Terriers are last in scoring offense at 59 ppg.

Davidson won this year's first meeting, 63-56, at home on Dec. 8. Nik Cochran had 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Wildcats have won seven of the last 10 meetings. Although the Terriers held the Wildcats in check in the first meeting, that was nearly two months ago. Since a 70-57 loss at Georgia Southern on Jan. 14, the Wildcats have scored no less than 71 points in any game. The Terriers have a recipe for great defense, but their own point production is limited and that will be their downfall once again.
