NCAA Game Summary - Butler at Northwestern (Saturday, December 8) Final Score: Butler 74, Northwestern 65 Evanston, IL (Sports Network) - Andrew Smith led four Bulldogs in double figures with a game-high 24 points as the Butler Bulldogs held off the Northwestern Wildcats to earn a 74-65 victory in a non-conference bout at the Welsh-Ryan Arena. Smith recorded the game's only double-double as he also grabbed 10 boards for Butler (7-2). Kellen Dunham chipped in 11 points and five rebounds off the bench. Rotnei Clarke and Roosevelt Jones added 13 and 10 points, respectively. For the Wildcats (7-3), Dave Sobolewski netted a team-high 21 points. Reggie Hearn chipped in 13 points, and Tre Demps contributed 15 points off the bench in the setback. Butler knocked down 5-of-10 shots from behind the arc and limited Northwestern to a mere 1-of-6 shooting from three-point range in the opening period to a earn 34-31 advantage at the break. Butler continued its solid play in the second half as it hit 50 percent of its attempts from the field. The Wildcats managed to make just 9-of-31 shots from the floor after the break as they suffered a nine-point defeat.
