Bucs cut two-time Pro Bowler Joseph

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Davin Joseph's eight-year tenure with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially came to an end Saturday, with the team releasing the two-time Pro Bowl guard to clear salary cap space.

Joseph, Tampa Bay's first-round selection (23rd overall) in the 2006 draft, earned Pro Bowl honors in 2008 and 2011 before missing the entire 2012 campaign due to a knee injury. He returned to start all 16 games at right guard this past season.

The 30-year-old was due a $6 million salary this upcoming season, the fourth in a seven-year, $52.5 million contract he signed in 2011.

"Decisions like this are never easy when it comes to parting ways with players such as Davin," said Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht. "We thank Davin for his contributions on and off the field during his eight years in Tampa Bay and we wish him well in the future."

Joseph started all but one of the 100 games he appeared in during his time in Tampa Bay.
