Bears agree to terms with G Slauson

Lake Forest, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bears and guard Matt Slauson agreed to terms on a one-year contract, the team announced on Friday.

Slauson, 27, spent his first three seasons in the NFL with the New York Jets and started 48 of 51 games played after the team selected him in sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Nebraska.

The 6-foot-5, 316-pounder should help a Chicago line that lost Lance Louis this week after he signed with Miami, though the team also added Jermon Bushrod this offseason to help solidify the left side of the line.

The Bears also came to terms with quarterback Josh McCown on a one-year contract. McCown, who has spent parts of the last two seasons on the active roster of the Bears, has started 33 of 50 games since being draft by Arizona in 2002.

McCown played in three games in 2011 and completed 35-of-55 passes for 414 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions.
