Thunder's Durant out vs. Boston
Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant will miss Friday's tilt with the Boston Celtics to rest his sore shoulder.
Durant, who injured his shoulder during Wednesday's win over the Spurs, sits in the midst of a historic scoring tear. The MVP candidate has notched at least 30 points in nine straight games, averaging 38.9 points per contest over that stretch. He scored career-high 54 points in a win over Golden State on Jan. 17.
Oklahoma City, which has won five straight, will be without its two superstars Russell Westbrook (knee) and Durant for the first time in the Thunder's history.
Perry Jones III, whose season-high of 13 points matches Durant's lowest output, will make his second start of the season in Durant's absence.
