Description: Rockies backup catcher Michael McKenry will get a chance to start again Sunday with Wilin Rosario on the bench for a second straight day.
Insight: Although never known as a big man with the bat, he's hitting .340 with a .940 OPS in 106 at-bats this season.

Description: Pittsburgh catcher Michael McKenry blew up for four hits Saturday in a win over the Marlins.
Insight: It's the first four-hit game of McKenry's career. He's only seen 115 at bats in 2013 and even after the four-hit performance he's still hitting just .217 for the season. Unless Russell Martin gets injured, you won't need to pay much attention to McKenry going forward.

Description: Pirates backup catcher Michael McKenry will start on Friday night against Cincinnati in place of Russell Martin.
Insight: Martin is just 1-for-11 against Cincinnati's scheduled starter Johnny Cueto. McKenry is batting .250 with three homers and 10 RBI in 60 at-bats, but has only thrown out runners in 2 of 23 stolen base attempts and this lineup change could allow the Reds to steal more bases than normal.

Description: Pirates catcher Michael McKenry had his first-career two-homer game Sunday versus Cincinnati.
Insight: McKenry drove in three. He hit 12 homers in 240 at-bats last season but he is the backup catcher for Pittsburgh and has no fantasy value until that changes.

Description: Pirates catcher Michael McKenry homered for the seventh time this season Saturday against San Francisco.
Insight: McKenry is a must-add player in NL-only leagues and someone to watch in mixed leagues as he's earned more playing time with his recent performance. The catcher has four blasts and 12 RBIs in his last nine games.

6/27/2012 10:40:00 PM
Description: Pirates catcher Michael McKenry homered for the second straight game Wednesday against Philadelphia.
Insight: McKenry went 2-for-4 with four RBIs a day after going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. The catcher is Rod Barajas' backup, but Barajas left Monday's game with a bone bruise in his left knee.
