Rangers, A's complete four-player trade

Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Texas Rangers sent outfielder Craig Gentry and pitcher Josh Lindblom to the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday in exchange for a pair of prospects in outfielder Michael Choice and infielder Chris Bostick.

Gentry batted .280 with two homers, 22 RBI, and 24 stolen bases in 106 games with the Rangers in 2013. The speedy center fielder was 24-for-27 (88.9 percent) in stolen base attempts, which was the third best percentage in the American League and sixth best in Rangers history.

Lindblom was 1-3 with a 5.46 earned run average in eight games (five starts) with the Rangers in 2013.

A Fort Worth, TX, native, Choice returns home after making his major league debut this past season. In nine game, he hit .278 and made three starts in the outfield. He was the 10th overall selection in the first round by Oakland in the 2010 MLB First Year Player Draft, and was listed as Oakland's second best prospect by Baseball America.

Bostick, a 20-year-old second baseman, batted .282 with 14 homers, 89 RBI, and 25 stolen bases in 129 games at Class A Beloit in 2013. The right-handed batter ranked third in the Midwest League in RBI and was fourth with 221 total bases. Bostick has played three pro seasons since being selected by Oakland in the 44th round of the 2011 First Year Player Draft.

Choice was placed on the Rangers major league roster while Bostick has been assigned to Class A Myrtle Beach.
