NCAA Game Summary - Central Michigan at Buffalo

(Wednesday, January 30)

Final Score: Buffalo 91, Central Michigan 73

Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Cameron Downing led five Bulls in double- figures with 21 points as Buffalo completed a 91-73 rout of the Central Michigan Chippewas in Mid-American Conference action at Alumni Arena.

Auraum Nuiriankh went 2-of-10 from the field, but made up for it by sinking all 12 of his free-throw attempts on his way to a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds for Buffalo (8-13, 3-4 MAC). Javon McCrea tallied 17 points and eight rebounds, while Jarryn Skeete and Tony Watson scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, to help the Bulls to their third win in four outings.

Kyle Randall paced CMU (9-11, 2-5) with 23 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field. Blake Hibbitts chimed in with 17 points off the bench as the Chippewas suffered their third loss in a row.

CMU came out of the gate cold and hit just 34.6 percent of its field goal tries before the break. While the visitors struggled, the Bulls converted 61-.5 percent of their shots from the floor, including 6-of-12 from 3-point range, to take a 43-30 edge into the intermission.

The Chippewas improved after halftime to hit 45.2 percent of their attempts from the field, but Buffalo drained 18-of-21 at the charity stripe over the final 20 minutes to extend its advantage.

The Bulls held a sizeable, 39-22 edge in total rebounds and outscored CMU, 42-30, in the paint to capture the victory.
