NCAA Game Summary - Oregon at Texas-El Paso

(Wednesday, December 19)

Final Score: Texas-El Paso 91, Oregon 84 (3OT)

El Paso, TX (Sports Network) - Julian Washburn scored 23 points as the Texas- El Paso Miners outlasted the Oregon Ducks in triple overtime, 91-84, in a non- conference tilt at the Don Haskins Center.

Washburn was joined in double figures by Cedrick Lang, who scored 14 points on 5-of-7 from the field, as well as a trio of UTEP (4-5) reserves. John Bohannon tallied a double-double with 21 points and 10 boards before fouling out while Jacques Streeter and Konner Tucker each netted 12 points. Streeter also dished out a game-high eight assists.

Damyean Dotson scored a team-high 20 points for the Ducks (9-2), who defeated UTEP last season in the only prior meeting between the two schools. Carlos Emory helped out with 18 points off the bench. Dominic Artis scored 15 points and had six assists but made just 6-of-23 shots from the floor. Arsalan Kazemi recorded a 13-point, 16-rebound double-double while E.J. Singler grabbed 10 boards. Tony Woods chipped in 10 points.

UTEP led 33-26 at halftime after shooting 42.3 percent from the floor and allowing Oregon to knock down just 2-of-12 attempts from the perimeter.

The Minors led by as many as nine points in the second half but allowed the Ducks to fight their way back. With seven seconds remaining, Artis converted a layup to give Oregon a one-point advantage. Bohannon was fouled moments later and made one free throw, sending the game to overtime.

The first overtime period ended in similar fashion to regulation except it was Woods who had the chance to be a hero. He made just one of two free throws to even the score and Washburn got a look at a three-pointer but missed at the buzzer.

The Ducks led by four during the second overtime but baskets by Bohannon and Washburn forced yet another extra session.

Finally, UTEP emerged and scored an impressive 16 points in the third overtime period thanks to a perfect 6-of-6 performance from the foul line.

The Ducks lost despite winning the rebounding battle, 49-44.
