Norman, OK (Sports Network) - Romero Osby scored 17 points, leading four starters in double figures, as the Oklahoma Sooners captured a 77-68 win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Big 12 Conference action at the Lloyd Noble Center.
Amath M'Baye and Buddy Hield each tallied 15 points for the Sooners (11-3, 2-0 Big 12) as they won their fourth straight outing, while Steven Pledger came up a rebound shy of a double-double as he posted 11 points for the hosts.
The Cowboys (11-4, 1-2) were paced by Markel Brown with 19 points and six rebounds, but still the team suffered a third loss in the last four outings after opening the 2012-13 campaign with a 10-1 mark. Phil Forte and Le'Bryan Nash both tallied 12 points and Marcus Smart 10 in the setback.
Oklahoma opened the meeting on a 7-0 run and never looked back, shooting a modest 43.8 percent from the floor in the first half in order to claim a 38-29 advantage at the break.
In the second half OSU attempted to battle back and while the squad was able to knock down 17-of-21 at the free-throw line, it missed all nine chances from 3-point range.
In addition to connecting on 19-of-21 shots at the charity stripe, the Sooners also converted 8-of-13 beyond the arc on the day.
