Toledo, OH (Sports Network) - Rian Pearson had a game-high 27 points and 11 rebounds, as the Toledo Rockets closed out the regular season with a 76-51 rout over Eastern Michigan in Mid-American Conference play at Savage Hall.
Curtis Dennis added 21 points and seven boards for the Rockets (16-15, 7-9 MAC), who will host either Miami-Ohio or Ball State in the first round of next week's conference tournament. Dominique Buckley scored 11 and dished out five assists for the victors.
Darrell Lampley netted 13 points for the Eagles (14-17, 9-7), who clinched their first-ever MAC West Division title under first-year head coach Rob Murphy earlier this week. Lampley, however, shot just 5-of-19 from the field and was the team's only player in double figures.
Toledo jumped out to a 35-25 halftime lead after shooting a healthy 51.7 percent from the floor in the opening frame.
The Rockets added to their lead with a staunch defensive effort in the second stanza, limiting EMU to 26.3-percent shooting. Toledo also knocked down 6- of-11 three-pointers after halftime.
Toledo snapped a three-game losing streak to the Eagles, who shot a dismal 3- of-20 from three-point range.
