Description: New England has released veteran tight end Kellen Winslow.
Insight: Aaron Hernandez seems to be healing quicker than the Patriots had originally expected so it doesn't appear Winslow will be needed anymore. Winslow caught one ball for 12 yards Sunday in his first and only game with the team. It looks like Winslow's knee is still bothering him so don't expect him to play a major role in fantasy if he opts to play for another team.

Description: Tight end Kellen Winslow, who worked out for the Patriots a couple of weeks ago, signed with New England, according to an ESPN report.
Insight: With Aaron Hernandez sidelined for a few weeks due to a high-ankle sprain, the Patroits quickly filled the spot. Winslow still doesn't figure to have much fantasy value in his first week with the team.

9/6/2012 10:10:00 AM
Description: Kellen Winslow worked out for the Patriots earlier this week, though New England's interest in adding the veteran tight end appears limited.
Insight: It was originally reported that Winslow failed his physical with the team, though that claim has since been refuted by ESPN Boston. Winslow's fantasy value would be almost nonexistent in New England with Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez already occupying the starting tight end roles.

9/2/2012 7:39:00 PM
Description: The Seahawks have released veteran tight end Kellen Winslow.
Insight: Winslow's unemployment shouldn't last long as he has recorded 700 or more receiving yards in each of his last three seasons including 763 yards on 75 catches last season in Tampa Bay. Winslow could still have some fantasy value if he winds up in an offense that can utilize his skill set.

5/22/2012 2:15:00 PM
Description: Just a day after Tampa Bay tight end Kellen Winslow made public that he was informed that he was "not wanted" by the Bucs, he has been traded to Seattle.
Insight: Winslow caught 75 balls for 763 yards and two touchdowns last season in Tampa, which was more than any Seahawks tight end. However, with at least four tight ends on the roster, Winslow will have to prove he still wants to play if he is going to be productive. At this point we can't put him in the top-12 at the position.

Description: Tampa Bay tight end Kellen Winslow says he's been informed that he's "not wanted" by the team.
Insight: Winslow has enough talent to hook on with another team and be a low-end fantasy asset in the right situation. One of those right situations could be in Chicago where the Bears don't have a guy with hands as good as Winslow. The Bears totaled 25 receptions by their tight ends in 2011. Winslow caught 75 balls for 763 yards and two touchdowns last season.

10/1/2011 7:29:00 PM
Description: Kellen Winslow (knee) is listed as probable for Week 4 after returning to Bucs practice Saturday.
Insight: Winslow took off on Friday for rest and doesn't appear to be a risky play this Monday. He's going to need to put up a respectable stat line on Monday for his owners to continue to trust him.

8/27/2011 9:57:00 PM
Description: Kellen Winslow was forced from Saturday's preseason game with an undisclosed injury.
Insight: K2 made his preseason and left after only four targets and two receptions. It doesn't appear to be a knee injury, so Winslow and his owners might have dodged a bullet. Monitor his status throughout the week, but he shouldn't miss too much time. Consider him a TE1.

Description: The Buccaneers are expected to target a tight end this offseason. SOURCE: TAMPA TRIBUNE
Insight: Winslow won't be replaced as the starter after leading the team in receptions with 66, but they could draft his eventual successor. Winslow is only 27, but his multiple knee operations have him playing like someone well into his 30s. And you just don't know when he will have another setback. Backup John Gilmore is expected to enter free agency.

12/27/2010 10:03:00 AM
Description: Winslow had seven catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns against the Seahawks on Sunday.
Insight: Winslow had his best game of the season, and could be a low-end TE 1 for Week 17 against New Orleans. (RapidDraft.com)

12/13/2010 10:04:00 AM
Description: Winslow had two receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown on Sunday against the Redskins.
Insight: Winslow has scored in three of his last five games, and could be startable against the Lions in Week 15. (RapidDraft.com)

11/29/2010 11:03:00 AM
Description: Winslow had four catches for 44 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens on Sunday.
Insight: Winslow has now scored in two out of the last three games, and is a solid fantasy TE as long as he's healthy. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Buccaneers TE Kellen Winslow (knee) was back at a full practice Thursday. SOURCE: CARROLL COUNTY TIMES
Insight: Winslow is only a low-end TE1 this week against the Ravens.

11/19/2010 11:01:00 AM
Description: NFL.com reports Winslow (knee) returned to full practice on Thursday.
Insight: Winslow is good to go for Sunday against the 49ers, and is coming off his best game of the season in Week 10. (RapidDraft.com)

11/15/2010 11:03:00 AM
Description: Winslow had six receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown against the Panthers on Sunday.
Insight: Tampa Bay head coach Raheem Morris said the team would try to get Winslow more involved in the offense, and Week 10 that came to fruition. The key question with K2 is always his health. (RapidDraft.com)

11/12/2010 12:02:00 PM
Description: The Buccaneers plan on getting TE Kellen Winslow more involved in the offense going forward. SOURCE: PEWTER REPORT
Insight: Raheem Morris blames Winslow's lack of production on double teams, but we think it's a combination of that, the playcalling and Winslow's lack of speed from multiple knee surgeries. We wouldn't bank on him as anything more than a TE2 until we start seeing the plan come into fruition.

11/12/2010 3:54:00 AM
Description: Bucs HC Raheem Morris told reporters he plans to start using TE Kellen Winslow more in the offense. SOURCE: PEWTER REPORT
Insight: Morris told the Pewter Report, "He is one of our big time playmakers for us on this team so we have to get Kellen going." Morris blames Winslow's lack of production on double teams, and the Bucs will game-plan to get him more targets. This may have a slight negative affect on WR Mike Williams, but I wouldn't read too much into it until we see if they do really start targeting Winslow more.

11/11/2010 11:03:00 PM
Description: Pewter Report.com reports Buccaneers' head coach Raheem Morris intends to get Winslow more involved in the offense going forward.
Insight: Morris blamed Winslow's lack of production this season on facing double teams, but the fact the team intends to get him involved bodes well for his fantasy prospects. (RapidDraft.com)

11/2/2010 3:04:00 PM
Description: Winslow (knee) had just one catch for five yards against Arizona last Sunday.
Insight: Winslow was targeted just twice as QB Josh Freeman spread the ball around effectively. But he had 18 receptions over the previous three games, so he remains roster-worthy in most fantasy leagues despite not scoring yet this season. (RapidDraft.com)

10/24/2010 1:22:00 PM
Description: Bucs TE Kellen Winslow was called for a bogus pass interference penalty in the end zone, negating an apparent touchdown pass from Josh Freeman.
Insight: Tampa Bay was called for consecutive penalties and suffered a sack in the process. It's now second and goal from the Rams 35.
