Description: Alexander Steen scored both St. Louis goals Saturday in a loss to Dallas.
Insight: He's up to 33 goals for the season, which is easily a career-high. A late surge could push that total up to 40. No St. Louis player has done that since Brad Boyes in 2008.

Description: St. Louis right wing Alexander Steen returned to the lineup on Saturday. He had been questionable with a lower body injury.
Insight: It's a welcome surprise for Steen owners who weren't expecting to have him on Saturday. Even after missing almost a month with a concussion, Steen is still tied for fifth in the league in goals with 26.

Insight: It comes with a no-trade clause. Steen (22 goals, 14 assists) has been arguably the best player in the Western Conference this season. Compared to what some guys in the league are making, Steen's deal is a bargain.

Description: St. Louis left wing Alex Steen (illness) will be a game-time decision Saturday against the Ducks, according to Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Insight: Steen finally seems to be slowing down after his scorching start to the season. He has three goals and three assists over his last nine games after putting up 17 goals and nine assists over his first 18 games.

Hot11/28/2013 12:19:00 PM
Description: St. Louis left wing Alex Steen has scored three goals in the last two games.
Insight: Steen looked to be going into a regression period when he had zero points in three games from Nov. 17-21, but he has rebounded with four points in the last three. There's no way anyone can be skeptical at this point, as Steen has 20 goals and 30 points in 24 games.

Hot11/16/2013 11:00:00 PM
Description: St. Louis left wing Alex Steen had a goal and one assist Saturday against Carolina, giving him 17 goals in 18 games.
Insight: It was easy to be skeptical of Steen's production at first -- he's 29 and has never had more than 24 goals or 51 points in a season -- but there's been no slowing his roll so far. He's also taking more SOG lately than he was earlier in the season, which should help him maintain some of his scoring even when his .266 scoring percentage dips. Even if you're selling high, there's no reason to accept anything other than a proven star player in return at this point.
