Tomas Tatar posted a goal and an assist, while Joakim Andersson and Johan Franzen also scored for the Red Wings, who have won five of their last six games. Andy Greene scored the only goal of the game for the Devils, who have lost three straight. Cory Schneider allowed all three goals on 21 shots.

Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Elias Lindholm capped a three-point night with the go-ahead goal with six minutes remaining in the third period to boost the Carolina Hurricanes to a 5-3 win over the San Jose Sharks. Jordan Staal, Riley Nash and Jay Harrison each had a goal and an assist, while Eric Staal scored the other goal for the Hurricanes, winners in three straight and five of their last six games. Cam Ward made 22 stops for Carolina, which has won five of its last six against the Sharks. Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Tommy Wingels and Justin Braun tallied for San Jose, which received 30 saves from Alex Stalock. The Sharks, who allowed four goals in the final period, have lost two in a row following a six-game winning streak.

Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Curtis McElhinney posted 20 saves for his first shutout of the season as the Columbus Blue Jackets dominated the Minnesota Wild, 4-0. McElhinney is the No. 1 goaltender in Columbus for the next several weeks, as reigning Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky is out with a groin strain he suffered in Tuesday's 1-0 victory over Tampa Bay. The two goaltenders combined for 26 stops in the win, and McElhinney's shutout on Friday gave the team its first back-to-back shutouts since Nov. 2010. R.J. Umberger and Nick Foligno posted a goal and an assist, while Cam Atkinson and Boone Jenner also scored for the Blue Jackets, who have won three of four. Niklas Backstrom gave up all four goals on 41 shots for the Wild, who had a two-game winning streak snapped.

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Kyle Palmieri scored the winner in the shootout as the Anaheim Ducks took a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday. In the second round, Palmieri faked to the backhand and lifted it over Antti Raanta. Patrick Kane then had his backhand stopped by Jonas Hiller to end the game and give Anaheim its fifth straight win over the Blackhawks. Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and an assist while Corey Perry also scored for the Ducks, who had lost three of four coming in. Hiller made 23 stops. Kris Versteeg had a goal and an assist and Ben Smith also scored for the Blackhawks, who have dropped a season-high three straight. Raanta made 24 saves.

Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - Maxime Talbot tallied a goal and an assist as the Colorado Avalanche posted a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Friday. PA Parenteau and Nathan MacKinnon scored, while Jean-Sebastien Giguere posted 26 saves to improve to 7-0-0 on the season for the Avalanche, who have won three of their last four. Kris Russell had a goal and an assist and Matt Stajan scored the other goal for the Flames, who were going for a season- high third straight win. Karri Ramo allowed all three goals on 25 shots.

Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) - Christopher Higgins scored at 3:41 of overtime to lift the Vancouver Canucks to a 3-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes. Jason Garrison and Henrik Sedin also scored for the Canucks, who have won three straight and four of their last five. Roberto Luongo stopped 37 shots in the win. David Moss and Antoine Vermette scored for the Coyotes, who have dropped six of their last eight. Mike Smith allowed all three goals on 32 shots. The winning goal came on a rush as Higgins skated in down the left wing and beat Smith with a wrister from the left circle for his eighth goal of the season.
