Browns cut Gocong, Young
Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Browns released linebacker Chris Gocong and defensive back Usama Young on Tuesday.
Gocong missed all of the 2012 season with a ruptured right Achilles. He came to Cleveland via trade from Philadelphia in 2010 and recorded 141 tackles, 5 1/2 sacks, six passes defensed and three forced fumbles in 32 games over his two healthy seasons with the Browns.
Cleveland signed Young in 2011 following a four-year stint with New Orleans. In two seasons with the team, he made 19 starts and totaled 118 tackles, four interceptions, 1 1/2 sacks and eight passes defensed. He appeared in a total of 29 games with the Browns.
The Browns did make an addition to their squad on Tuesday, agreeing on a contract with kicker Brandon Bogotay, a former backup to Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl selection Blair Walsh at the University of Georgia.
