Description: Knicks forward Rasheed Wallace has announced his retirement.
Insight: Wallace has retired before but this time it looks like he really means it. It's unclear if Wallace ever reached his full potential as an NBA player but he did manage to win a championship with the Pistons in 2004. The hot-tempered big man only made it through 21 games this season while dealing with a foot injury.

4/15/2013 8:53:00 PM
Description: Rasheed Wallace's return from a left foot injury on Monday night lasted all of four minutes.
Insight: The foot injury resurfaced early on and Wallace eventually had to leave the game. He finished with two points. His season is likely over and it's possible his career is too.

Insight: Wallace hasn't played since December and we suspect most fantasy owners have forgotten about him by now. He'll miss at least eight weeks, making the newly signed Kenyon Martin that much more imperative to New York's stretch run.

2/14/2013 9:47:00 PM
Description: SNY's Adam Zagoria heard from Knicks coach Mike Woodson that forward Rasheed Wallace isn't expected to see more than 10 minutes per game when he returns from his foot injury.
Insight: Wallace hasn't played since December and we suspect most fantasy owners have forgotten about him by now. If he's only playing ten minutes a night, Wallace (7.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg) won't be worth your time in fantasy.

2/4/2013 7:56:00 PM
Description: Frank Isola from the New York Daily News hears that Knicks forward Rasheed Wallace could be back after the All-Star break. Wallace has missed 23 games in a row while recovering from an injured foot.
Insight: The rest of the Knicks are healthy, which won't leave Wallace much playing time when he comes back. He's fine right where he is on the waiver wire.

1/16/2013 8:31:00 PM
Description: ESPN New York reports that Knicks forward Rasheed Wallace may miss the rest of the season while recovering from an injured left foot.
Insight: Wallace hasn't played since December 13th and it doesn't look like he's close to a return. At age 38, it's possible that Wallace (7.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg) has played his final game in the NBA.

Description: Knicks forward Rasheed Wallace (sore left foot) should be able to practice Sunday and Monday before returning on Jan. 1. Wallace has missed eight straight games with a stress reaction in his left foot. SOURCE: Marc Berman, New York Post
Insight: Wallace shed his walking boot and participated in shootaround Friday. The team has kept him on the sidelines so his stress reaction doesn't turn into a stress fracture. Wallace was playing well prior to the injury but he won't have much fantasy value since Amare Stoudemire is also close to returning. Chris Copeland has also likely earned more playing time by scoring 15.8 ppg during the last six games he has played (Copeland picked up a DNP-CD on Dec. 23 and 25).

Description: Knicks forward Rasheed Wallace (sore left foot) is targeting Jan. 1 for a return to the lineup. SOURCE: Marc Berman, NY Post
Insight: Wallace shed his walking boot and participated in shootaround Friday. Wallace is averaging 7.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season so he isn't a fantasy option. His return will push Chris Copeland (14.4 ppg, two DNP-CDs the last seven games) further down the rotation.

12/22/2012 10:46:00 AM
Description: Knicks forward Rasheed Wallace has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his foot according to the New York Daily News.
Insight: That should keep Wallace out for at least the rest of the calendar year. The Knicks are holding out slim hope that Wallace could return after the team's trip to the west coast. Until then, Chris Copeland and Steve Novak are the forwards New York will look to for production off the bench.

Insight: Wallace doesn't have a timetable for his return but he's not much of a fantasy option anyway.

12/17/2012 10:14:00 AM
Description: Knicks forward Rasheed Wallace is questionable for Monday's game against Houston. He's dealing with soreness in his left foot.
Insight: Wallace missed Saturday's game with Cleveland. He's only reached double digits in one of his last nine games. Even when he's healthy, Wallace simply doesn't play enough minutes to warrant any real fantasy consideration.

12/15/2012 6:46:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Rasheed Wallace won't be on the floor for Saturday's game against the Cavaliers. He's dealing with soreness in his left foot.
Insight: Wallace has only reached double digits in one of his last nine games. Even when he's healthy, Wallace simply doesn't play enough minutes to warrant any real fantasy consideration.

12/10/2012 4:18:00 PM
Description: Knicks PF Rasheed Wallace is questionable for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn with a sore left foot.
Insight: Wallace is averaging 7.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 1.0 three-pointers. His fantasy value is limited and will go much lower when Amare Stoudemire returns.

9/28/2012 6:18:00 PM
Description: According to the New York Post, Rasheed Wallace has signed a deal for the veteran's minimum with the New York Knicks. He'll attend training camp and attempt to make the team.
Insight: The Knicks already have veteran big men Marcus Camby and Kurt Thomas on the roster behind Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler so even if Wallace does make the team he won't have much fantasy value.

3/30/2012 6:00:00 PM
Description: Rasheed Wallace will stay retired.
Insight: There was a rumor he could come back to play for a contender like Los Angeles or Miami midway through the season. This officially closes the book on Wallace's fantasy basketball career ... for now.

3/21/2012 4:30:00 PM
Description: Rasheed Wallace could make a decision soon on whether or not he will come out of retirement.
Insight: There was a rumor last month that Wallace was getting ready to join the Lakers but that never materialized. Besides the Lakers, the Heat and Celtics, who are both in need of a big man, could also be suitors for Wallace.

8/10/2010 11:30:00 PM
Description: Rasheed Wallace has cleared waivers and is all set for what seems to be his retirement. SOURCE: ESPN.com
Insight: Sheed was a trip and he had several productive seasons in the prime of his career. His last memory will sadly be how he was throwing his towel up in the air to distract Sasha Vujacic in the closing moments of The Finals. Bad form.

8/8/2010 3:52:00 PM
Description: Shaquille O'Neal thinks Rasheed Wallace will not retire. SOURCE: Comcast New England
Insight: Shaq and Sheed are a bit too old to have even moderate fantasy value for the whole season. On the other hand, Boston will be without Kendrick Perkins
