Orlando Magic (2-3) at Brooklyn Nets (2-2), 3 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Brooklyn Nets shoot for a home-and-home sweep of the
Orlando Magic when the two clubs clash Sunday at Barclays Center.
Brooklyn crushed the Magic, 107-68, on Friday thanks to 14 points and 10
rebounds from Brook Lopez. Andray Blatche had 15 points off the bench, Joe
Johnson scored 13 and Deron Williams ended with 12 points for the Nets, who
shot 50 percent from the field and halted a two-game slide.
The Nets' bench played a huge role in the win, outscoring Orlando's reserves
by a 55-18 margin. The Nets ended a 10-game losing streak to the Magic and
earned their first road win of the season (1-1).
"We know when we get in the game we have to come out with a lot of energy,"
said Blatche of the bench play. "We have to take care of the paint and run the
offense. We know when we get in there, its time to go to work."
Nets forward Gerald Wallace and guard Marshon Brooks did not play Friday and
are doubtful this afternoon with ankle injuries.
Brooklyn is opening a three-game homestand versus the Magic and also will host
Cleveland and Boston.
Orlando is mired in a three-game losing streak after opening the post-Dwight
Howard era with two straight wins.
In the lopsided defeat at the hands of the Nets, E'Twaun Moore scored a game-
best 18 points and has been filling in at the point with Jameer Nelson
sidelined due to injury. Aaron Afflalo had 12 points for the Magic.
"We've got a lot to work on, defensively being the main issue," Afflalo said.
"But the good thing is that we play the same team on Sunday. So I think it
will be a great chance for us to see if we can truly learn from tonight. ...
Hopefully we grow from tonight."
The Magic were outrebounded, 48-35, and will play four of their next five
games away from home. They own an 0-2 mark as the guest this season and are
still without Hedo Turkoglu (hand) and Al Harrington (knee).
Orlando has won 14 of the past 16 encounters with the Nets and five straight
as the visitor in this series.
