Description: Toronto right-hander Drew Hutchison allowed just one hit over 8 2/3 innings in a win over the Orioles Wednesday night.
Insight: The hit was a solo homer so Hutchison wasn't entirely flawless, but it was still a dominant effort for a pitcher who has been struggling (6.64 ERA last eight starts). The 23-year-old had a 7.71 ERA at home prior to Wednesday's start. He'll start at Seattle his next time out.

Description: Toronto right-hander Drew Hutchison fanned 10 batters and allowed one run on three hits over seven innings Tuesday against the Brewers.
Insight: Hutchison has been solid this year, going 6-6 with a 3.81 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP and 89 Ks in 99 1/3 innings.
6/13/2014 10:34:00 PM
Description: Toronto right-hander Drew Hutchison was excellent Friday in a win over Baltimore.
Insight: He didn't allow a run in seven innings. Hutchison (5-4, 3.62 ERA) has been alternating good and bad outings so don't expect him to be as sharp next time out against the Yankees.
6/3/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays starter Drew Hutchison gave up three hits and struck out seven without walking a batter in seven innings Tuesday at Detroit.
Insight: Hutchison took a no decision because Anibal Sanchez was equally as good on the other side. The right-hander now has a 3.50 ERA and 66 Ks in 72 innings this season.
5/16/2014 10:37:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays starter Drew Hutchison tossed his first career shutout Friday at Texas. He allowed just three hits, struck out six and walked one, beating Yu Darvish in the process.
Insight: Hutchison's fielding-independent numbers are outstanding -- 9.11 K/9, 2.65 BB/9, 0.66 HR/9, 2.97 FIP -- and his ERA is getting there. The 23-year-old is 2-3 with a 3.64 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP.
5/6/2014 9:50:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays starter Drew Hutchison held Philadelphia scoreless over the first five innings of Tuesday's game, but he gave up five runs in the sixth.
Insight: The big blow was a grand slam by Cody Asche. Hutchison ended up throwing eight innings and has a 4.17 ERA, but with a strong 9.66 K/9 and 2.41 BB/9. He should improve when his .330 BABIP regresses.
4/24/2014 9:59:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays starter Drew Hutchison gave up two earned runs on six hits and struck out nine in six innings Thursday against the Orioles, but Toronto's bullpen turned a 3-2 lead into an 11-4 loss.
Insight: Hutchison has an impressive 11.42 K/9 and a 3.46 ERA so far. His WHIP is a little high at 1.38, but that's only because he has been hurt by a .364 BABIP.

Description: Toronto starter Drew Hutchison (elbow) has opted for rehab over having surgery to repair his strained UCL, according to John Lott of the National Post. He's been shut down for 4-6 weeks.
Insight: Hutchison (5-3, 4.66 ERA) may eventually have to get Tommy John surgery if the elbow doesn't heal or gets worse with rehab. It will be surprising if he makes it back this season.
6/19/2012 8:48:00 PM
Description: Toronto starter Drew Hutchison (elbow) is likely headed for surgery, according to Richard Griffin of the Toronto Star.
Insight: Hutchison (5-3, 4.66 ERA) has a sprained ulnar collateral ligament, which could get better with rehab, but it can also become worse and require surgery down the road. For that reason, Hutchison may opt for surgery now. Either way, he won't be pitching for awhile.
6/16/2012 8:13:00 PM
Description: Toronto starter Drew Hutchison has been placed on the 15-day DL with a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow.
Insight: Hutchison (5-3, 4.66 ERA) won't be seeing the field any time soon for the Blue Jays.
6/15/2012 7:31:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays starter Drew Hutchison left Friday's game against Philadelphia with an elbow injury.
Insight: Hutchison (5-3, 4.66) has had an up-and-down season. He left Friday's game after just nine pitches. The right-hander is the third Toronto hurler to leave a start early this week, as Brandon Morrow and Kyle Drabek exited with injuries.
