William & Mary to open 2013 schedule at West Virginia
Williamsburg, VA - A season-opening trip to West Virginia and six home games highlight the 12-game schedule for the William & Mary football team in 2013.
William & Mary will match the most scheduled regular-season games in school history (1932), beginning with the trip to Morgantown on Aug. 31. It will be the first meeting between the two programs since 1972, when the Mountaineers earned a 49-34 victory.
The Tribe will play non-conference games at Zable Stadium against Hampton (Sept. 7) and Penn (Oct. 12) as well as CAA Football games against Rhode Island (Sept. 21), James Madison (Oct. 26, Homecoming), New Hampshire (Nov. 2) and Towson (Nov. 16)
Coach Jimmye Laycock's squad also will play on the road against Lafayette (Sept. 14) in non-conference action, and Villanova (Oct. 5), Maine (Oct. 19), Delaware (Nov. 9) and Richmond (Nov. 23) within the CAA.
William & Mary, which will try to rebound from a 2-9 season, will not play either of the CAA's two new teams, Albany and Stony Brook.
