NCAA Game Summary - Tulsa at Louisiana Tech

Ruston, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Trey Watts ran for 189 yards and three
touchdowns as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane bested the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs,
24-14, in a Conference USA showdown at Joe Aillet Stadium.
Dane Evans completed 12-of-22 pass attempts for the Golden Hurricane (3-8, 2-5
C-USA), but was intercepted three times. Ja'Terian Douglas picked up 58 yards
on 13 carries.
Ryan Higgins completed 22-of-43 pass attempts for the Bulldogs (4-7, 3-4) and
threw for a touchdown, but he was sacked six times and threw four picks. Tevin
King ran for 111 yards on 21 carries.
Midway through the first quarter, Tulsa got the scoring started with a six-
yard touchdown run by Watts.
With three minutes left in the first half, the Bulldogs tied the game on a 10-
yard touchdown run by Blake Martin.
A Carl Salazar field goal in the final minute of the half from 26 yards put
the Golden Hurricane ahead 10-7 at the break.
Just under three minutes into the second half, Watts increased the Tulsa lead
with his second touchdown, an 11-yard run that made the score 17-7.
In the final minute of the third quarter, Jon Greenwalt caught a four-yard
touchdown pass from Higgins to cut the Tulsa lead to 17-14.
Watts sealed the victory for the Golden Hurricane five minutes into the last
quarter with a five-yard touchdown score, his third, making it 24-14 Tulsa.
Tulsa claimed 34:22 of possession time in the game, almost ten minutes more
than its opponent. The Golden Hurricane also picked up 10-of-19 third-down
conversions in the win.
