NCAA Game Summary - UNLV at Colorado State

Fort Collins, CO (Sports Network) - Donnell Alexander rushed for 139 yards and
a pair of touchdowns to lift the Colorado State Rams to a 33-11 win over the
UNLV Rebels in a Mountain West Conference duel at Hughes Stadium.
Conner Smith threw for only 109 yards on 16-of-27 passing and was also
intercepted for Colorado State (3-7, 2-4, MWC). Nine different receivers
caught passes for the Rams.
Tim Cornett rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries for UNLV (2-8,
2-4). Nick Sherry threw for 88 yards and a touchdown and was intercepted twice
while completing 12-of-30 pass attempts.
It was Colorado State's defense that accounted for the first score of the game
with Shaquil Barrett returning an interception 49 yards for a touchdown.
Colorado State's next score came by even less traditional means. Bradley
Randle fumbled on a rush attempt at the UNLV 30, but the ball was scooped up
by the Rams' Shaq Bell, who ran it 30 yards into the end zone.
A 10-yard rushing touchdown from Alexander came after Colorado State recovered
a fumble on a punt return by the Rebels. After Alexander's score the Rams led
21-0.
Jared Roberts would add a 49-yard field goal just before the break to give
Colorado State a 24-0 lead going into the locker room.
Roberts struck again, this time from 32 yards late in the third quarter.
UNLV finally scored at the beginning of the fourth quarter on a one-yard
touchdown pass from Sherry to Max Johnson. With a successful two-point
conversion the score stood at 27-8.
Colorado State would answer on its next possession with a 14-yard touchdown
run from Alexander.
Nolan Kohorst would add a 33-yard field goal for UNLV near the end of the
fourth quarter.
Colorado State had a 340-219 edge in total yards and an almost 10 minute
advantage in time of possession.
