Riders punter Boreham retires
Regina, SK (Sports Network) - The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced on Thursday that punter Jamie Boreham has retired following a nine-year career.
Boreham had returned to the club one week ago, having been signed to the practice roster.
The native of Vancouver was selected by his hometown British Columbia Lions with the 16th pick in the 2001 draft, and also played for the Tiger-Cats, Argonauts and Eskimos between two separate stints with the Blue Bombers and three with the Roughriders.
Boreham was a key component of Saskatchewan's 2007 triumph in the Grey Cup, and also appeared in last season's CFL title game with Winnipeg.
Also on Thursday, the Riders signed running back Stephfon Green to the practice squad, while releasing linebackers Aaron Crawford and Brian Peters and offensive lineman John Hashem.
