Towson, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Jerrelle Benimon notched a double-double with 20 points and 17 rebounds, leading the Towson Tigers past the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks, 60-53, in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at SECU Arena.

Benimon shot 6-of-13 from the field for the Tigers (10-6, 1-0 CAA), who won their third straight game. Four McGlynn added 11 points.

Chris Dixon tallied 17 points for the Seahawks (6-12, 0-3), who have fallen in seven straight contests. Cedrick Williams and Addison Spruill contributed 15 and 11 points, respectively.

The Seahawks shot 40 percent from the field for the first half to the Tigers' 32 percent. The Tigers, however, gained an advantage with their perimeter game and sank 5-of-12 from beyond the arc to go up 26-24 at halftime.

In the second half the Seahawks' field-goal production dipped to 34.6 percent, including just 1-of-8 from 3-point range. At the other end, the Tigers converted 35.7 percent from the floor and hit 12-of-14 at the free- throw line, distancing themselves from their opponent by as many as 10 points late in the game.

The Seahawks hit just 2-of-14 from the perimeter and their bench failed to score even a single point in the loss.
