NCAA Game Summary - Manhattan at Niagara

Niagara University, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Rhamel Brown scored 22 points,
grabbed six rebounds and blocked six shots as the Manhattan Jaspers edged out
the Niagara Purple Eagles, 78-77, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tilt
at Gallagher Center.
George Beamon scored 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the floor for
Manhattan (17-6, 10-4 MAAC). RaShawn Stores chipped in 10 points and four
rebounds in the win, which was the third in a row for the Jaspers.
Antoine Mason netted 33 points to lead all scorers for Niagara (6-19, 3-11),
adding eight rebounds to his resume. Tahjere McCall scored 16 points and
dished out a team-high seven assists in the loss - Niagara's fourth in a row.
Two Mason free throws with 43 seconds left in the game put the Purple Eagles
down by one point. A missed Niagara layup opportunity with one second
remaining gave Manhattan the victory.
Manhattan shot 44.8 percent from the floor in the first half, and took a
slight 39-37 lead into the locker room at the intermission. Niagara connected
on 48 percent of its shots in the frame.
The Jaspers improved to 54.6 percent shooting in the second half, and went 14-
of-19 from the free-throw line. The Purple Eagles buried 45.2 percent of their
field goal tries in the period, but came up just short at the end.
Manhattan had the edge in fast break points, 14-5, and in bench points, 16-8.
