Riverdale, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Wilson went 6-of-7 from the floor to
net a game-high 15 points for the Jaspers as Manhattan defeated the Monmouth
Hawks, 75-66, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Draddy
Emmy Andujar added 13 points and six rebounds for Manhattan (6-2, 2-0 MAAC) as
it picked up its third-straight win. George Beamon was held to 2-of-10
shooting from the floor and finished with 11 points while Rhamel Brown
contributed 10 points and eight boards.
Deon Jones and Max Dileo scored 14 points apiece for the Hawks (3-6, 0-2).
Jones also pulled down 10 rebounds and committed eight turnovers while Tyrone
O'Garro registered a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Monmouth took a 39-33 lead into halftime after it shot 44.4 percent from the
field and knocked down 5-of-10 attempts from 3-point range in the opening 20
minutes of action. The Jaspers were limited to 30.8 percent efficiency from
the floor in the first half.
Manhattan heated up and assisted nine of its 15 made field goal tries in the
second half to take control. The Hawks made only 6-of-25 shots from the field
after the intermission.
The Jaspers' reserves outscored Monmouth's bench, 42-23. The Hawks lost
despite holding a 45-39 edge in the rebounding battle.
