Macomb, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Udofia led all scorers with 17 points,
as the Denver Pioneers downed the Western Illinois Leathernecks, 67-55, in
Summit League action at Western Hall.
Udofia shot 5-of-6 from the field and added five assists, two steals and two
blocks for Denver (10-10, 3-2 Summit), which has won three straight games.
Jalen Love and Brett Olson added 14 and 12 points, respectively.
For WIU (8-12, 2-3), Garret Covington netted 12 points and Michael Ochereobia
poured in 10.
Denver shot 50 percent from the field in the first half while holding WIU to
only 38.9 percent shooting, as it carried a 28-16 lead into intermission.
The playing field was evened in the second stanza, with the Pioneers shooting
47.6 percent from the field to the Leathernecks' 44.4 percent, but WIU never
got closer than eight points of the lead.
WIU was plagued by 19 turnovers, with Denver converted into 22 points. The
Pioneers committed only nine miscues themselves.
