Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Will Regan scored a season-high 25 points
and added 10 rebounds, as the Buffalo Bulls outlasted the Kent State Golden
Flashes, 71-60, in Mid-American Conference action at Alumni Arena.
Regan shot 8-of-15 from the field (including 3-of-6 from 3-point range) and
drained all six of his free-throw attempts for Buffalo (9-5, 3-1 MAC), which
has won five of six. Joshua Freelove scored 14 points for the hosts, while
Javon McCrea tallied 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
For Kent State (11-6, 2-2), Devareaux Manley poured in 17 points and Kris
Brewer netted 11.
The Golden Flashes shot 50 percent from the field in the first half while
holding Buffalo to just 37. 5 percent shooting, but their lead was just two,
29-27, heading into intermission. The Bulls kept the contest close by shooting
8-of-10 at the free-throw line in the opening stanza.
Trailing by two early in the second half, Buffalo took control after piecing
together an 18-4 run to take a 12-point advantage with 10:25 remaining, and
Kent State never threatened the lead from that point forward.
Buffalo took advantage of its opportunities at the charity stripe, draining
21-of-23 attempts, while Kent State was a meager 6-of-13 from the line.
