Dayton, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Juvonte Reddic tallied 18 points and seven
rebounds to lead the Virginia Commonwealth Rams to an 80-66 decision over the
Dayton Flyers in an Atlantic 10 Conference tilt at UD Arena.
Briante Weber also scored 18 points which he accompanied with five assists and
three steals for VCU (15-4, 3-1 A-10). Treveon Graham added 14 points on 6-
of-17 shooting from the floor.
The Flyers (13-6, 1-3) were paced by Devin Oliver, who poured in a game-high
21 points. Dyshawn Pierre contributed 14 points on 5-of-6 efficiency from the
The Rams took a 36-27 lead into the intermission after they connected on 6-
of-17 attempts from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes of the contest.
Dayton trailed at the break despite connecting on 52.4 percent of its field
goal attempts in the first half.
VCU used a 24-10 reach to take a 69-49 lead with only 5:55 remaining the
second half. The Flyers were limited to 42.3 percent shooting from the floor
and converted only 12-of-20 attempts at the charity stripe after halftime. VCU
knocked down 11-of-13 free-throw tries in the second period.
Dayton held a 34-30 edge in total rebounds. The Rams turned the Flyers' 18
turnovers into 28 points and committed only seven miscues.
