NCAA Game Summary - Saint Peters at Cornell

Ithaca, NY (Sports Network) - Blaise Ffrench led the way with 22 points as the
Saint Peter's Peacocks downed the Cornell Big Red, 68-64, in a non-conference
tilt at Newman Arena.
For the Peacocks (3-0), Yvon Raymond added 14 points, Chris Prescott finished
with 11 points, and Desi Washington contributed 10 points. Raymond and
Washington also grabbed six rebounds each.
Devin Cherry led the Big Red (1-2) with 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting from the
field. Shonn Miller and Galal Cancer each finished with 13 points while Nolan
Cressler chipped in 10 points.
St. Peter's shot a respectable 48.1 percent from the field in the first half
and went into halftime leading 28-26, despite 1-of-6 shooting from the three-
point arc. Cornell managed to make just 9-of-28 field goal attempts in the
opening 20 minutes, but managed to stay close by connecting on 4-of-13 shots
from long distance.
The Peacocks continued to shoot well after the break from distance, hitting on
45.2 percent from the field, including 6-of-12 from three-point range. The Big
Red shot only 40 percent from the floor but remained in striking distance due
to their 11-of-12 performance at the free throw line over the final 20 minutes.
After pushing their lead to as many as 11 points in the half, the Peacocks were
able to survive a late rally by the Big Red to hang on for the victory.
Saint Peter's outscored Cornell in the paint, 32-22, and held a 39-33 edge on
