Fort Worth, TX (Sports Network) - Ioannis Papapetrou finished with 15 points
to lead the Texas Longhorns to a 68-59 victory over the TCU Horned Frogs in a
Big 12 Conference tilt at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
Connor Lammert added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Longhorns (12-14,
4-9 Big 12), while Myck Kabongo chipped in with 12 points and seven assists.
For the Horned Frogs (10-16, 1-12), Garlon Green finished with 15 points,
while Nate Butler Lind scored 12 points, Kyan Anderson tallied 10 points and
eight assists and Devonta Abron pulled down 11 rebounds.
The Longhorns took a 33-25 lead into the break, knocking down 59.1 percent of
their field goal tries in the half. TCU made 45 percent of their shots from
the field, but missed all three of their tries from beyond the 3-point arc
before the break.
Texas shot 46.2 percent from the field, including 3-of-5 from 3-point
distance, while TCU shot 42.3 percent and connected on 4-of-10 from beyond the
arc in the second half. The Frogs were able to tie the game at 48-48 with
under nine minutes to play, but the Longhorns responded with a 10-2 run to
regain the lead. The visitors held on for their first road victory of the
season and handed the Frogs their fourth straight loss.
TCU shot only 3-of-9 beyond the arc on the night and made good on just 14-
of-24 at the charity stripe in the nine-point decision.
