NCAA Game Summary - Vanderbilt at Tennessee

Final Score: Tennessee 58, Vanderbilt 57

Knoxville, TN (Sports Network) - Jarnell Stokes posted a double-double as the Tennessee Volunteers edged out the Vanderbilt Commodores, 58-57, in a SEC battle at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Stokes had 19 points and 11 rebounds and Skylar McBee added 10 points off the bench for Tennessee (11-8, 3-4 SEC) which has won three of its last four. Josh Richardson had only six points but collected 10 rebounds as well.

Kedren Johnson scored 14 points and Josh Henderson chipped in 13 off the bench for Vanderbilt (8-11, 2-5) which has lost consecutive games.

Tennessee got out to a 27-23 lead at the break by shooting 41.7 percent from the field which was slightly better than Vanderbilt who hit on 40.9 percent of its field goal attempts.

The Commodores improved to 44.4 percent shooting in the second half to tighten the game up in the final minute. With 28 seconds left Vanderbilt trailed by just a single point, 58-57, after a tip-in from James Siakam. Jordan McRae then missed the front end of a one-and-one attempt for the Volunteers but Johnson's last second layup missed for Vanderbilt.

Tennessee had slim advantages in rebounds (33-31) and points in the paint (30-26). The Volunteers also earned a 12-4 edge on second chance points.
