(Tuesday, January 15)

Final Score: Clemson 60, Wake Forest 44

Clemson, SC (Sports Network) - K.J. McDaniels tallied a game-high 14 points as the Clemson Tigers conquered the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, 60-44, in an Atlantic Coast Conference battle at Littlejohn Coliseum.

McDaniels cleared a career-high nine rebounds and rejected seven shots for the Tigers (10-6, 2-2 ACC) as they won their third straight game. Also scoring in double figures for the hosts were Adonis Filer and Devin Booker with 13 and 12 points, respectively, the latter adding eight rebounds and a pair of blocks of his own.

Wake Forest (9-7, 2-2), which entered the contest having won five of the last six games, was paced by Travis McKie who logged 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Devin Thomas tacked on 11 points in the setback.

The Demon Deacons owned an early four-point advantage, but the team ended up shooting a dismal 25.0 percent from the floor in the first half, compared to 54.5 percent for Clemson as the home team grabbed a 31-21 lead at the break.

In the second half Wake Forest dipped to 24.2 percent from the field and even though the team trailed by as many as 18 points in the period, they attempted only two shots beyond the arc, which they missed, en route to the double-digit setback.

The Demon Deacons pulled down 18 offensive rebounds, compared to just six for Clemson, yet the visitors registered just three assists on the night.
