Moscow, ID (Sports Network) - Kyle Barone scored 25 points to help Idaho take a 77-68 win over Portland State as part of the BracketBusters series.
Stephen Madison chipped in 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Landon Tatum had 10 points and 10 assists for the Vandals (16-11), who won their fifth in a row. Deremy Geiger ended with 11 points.
Charles Odum led the way with 17 points and Lateef McMullan scored 16 for the Vikings (13-13), who won their previous three contests. Renado Parker had 14 points and Chehales Tapscott 10 in defeat.
Idaho jumped to a 9-0 lead in the first three minutes of the game and bolted to a 42-25 cushion at the half. Idaho made 19-of-28 field goal attempts in the opening 20 minutes.
The Vikings got within six midway through the second half, but couldn't rally despite shooting 51.6 percent in the final period.
Portland State fell to 0-12 this year when it has been outshot from the field by its opponent.
