San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Dennis Kramer scored 22 points and ripped down 11 rebounds to lead San Diego to a thrilling 78-75 victory over San Diego in West Coast Conference action at Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Johnny Dee added 12 points and Christopher Anderson scored 10 points, dished out 13 assists and collected five steals for San Diego (11-15, 6-8 WCC) which has won three of its last four games.
Kevin Bailey netted 18 points for Portland (6-20, 3-10) while Tim Douglas had 11 and Ryan Nicholas added 10 for the Pilots who have lost three straight and nine of their last 10.
San Diego led 33-26 headed into the break by shooting a solid 52.9 percent from the floor and limiting Portland to just 40.0 percent shooting.
The Pilots trailed 61-46 with 7:41 remaining in regulation but went on a 16-4 run down the stretch to cut the deficit to 65-62 with six seconds remaining. San Diego's Chris Manresa then missed two free throws and Bailey nailed a three pointer as time expired in the ensuing possession to send the game to overtime.
In the extra period San Diego led off with a 6-0 spurt to take a lead it would never surrender.
