New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Ken Rancifer and Chris Manresa both recorded double-double, powering the San Diego Toreros to a 64-56 victory over the New Orleans Privateers in top open up play in the 2011 Hoops for Hope Classic at Fogelman Arena.
Rancifer finished the game with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Manresa tallied 11 points and 10 boards for San Diego (3-1), which also received 10 points from Darian Norris.
Lovell Cook was the only player to finish in double figures for New Orleans (3-3), as he finished the game with 16 points. Albert Peterson was second on the team with eight points, as New Orleans had a three-game win streak snapped.
San Diego shot an even 50 percent from the floor in the first half, but hit halftime tied with New Orleans, 29-29, as the Privateers outscored the Toreros at the free-throw line 8-3 in the first half.
The Toreros pulled away in the second half by holding New Orleans to just 27.3 percent accuracy over the final 20 minutes. San Diego dominated the play on the glass, outrebounding New Orleans, 46-29 and overcame 24 turnovers to earn the win.
