NCAA Game Summary - Bryant vs. Southern Utah

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Damon Heuir poured in 33 points and Ray Jones Jr. added 18 points and 10 assists to lead Southern Utah to a 95-78 win over Bryant in the Basketball Travelers Classic at the Aztec Bowl.
Heuir played all 40 minutes for Southern Utah (2-1), going 13-of-16 from the field, including 5-of-8 from three-point range. Matt Massey added 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Thunderbirds.
Alex Francis scored 29 points for Bryant (1-2), which also got 24 points from Frankie Dobbs. Francis also collected eight rebounds, while Dobbs connected on 5-of-6 from three-point range.
Southern Utah built a 52-45 halftime lead, but struggled to put Bryant away until late in the second half. After Dobbs hit a free throw to make it 71-69 with 9:18 remaining, Southern Utah went on a 15-4 run over the next four minutes that put the game well in the Thunderbirds' control.
Heuir had 11 points after halftime, while Jones Jr. made 5-of-7 shots in the second 20 minutes, where he scored 14 of his 18 points.
Southern Utah shot 66.1 percent from the field, while Bryant shot 56.5 percent.
