NCAA Game Summary - Texas-San Antonio at Eastern Kentucky

Richmond, KY (Sports Network) - Justin Stommes hit a three-pointer with 12 seconds left as the Eastern Kentucky Colonels edged the Texas San-Antonio Roadrunners, 74-72, in the Richmond Subregional of the CBE Classic.
Stommes scored 17 points for the Colonels (4-1) and dealt out seven assists. Papa Oppong scored 14 points for Eastern Kentucky, which won its third straight. Joshua Jones added 12 points and Spencer Perrin 11. Josh Taylor pulled down 10 rebounds and tallied nine points before fouling out.
Omar Johnson and Devin Gibson scored 18 points each for the Roadrunners (4-1) who lost for the first time in five outings. Gibson, who shot 4-of-6 behind the three-point line and was a perfect 6-of-6 at the free-throw line, added seven rebounds and seven assists in the setback. Morris Smith added 14 points.
Eastern Kentucky scored the first seven points of the game but the Roadrunners grabbed a 17-16 lead at the 10:23 mark of the first half and went on to take a 41-28 halftime lead. The Roadrunners were 8-of-14 from thee-point range in the period, compared to just 2-of-12 for EKU.
The Colonels went on a 21-8 run to take the lead at 71-70 lead on Jones's three-pointer with 55 seconds remaining . There were two more lead changes before the final buzzer. The Roadrunners' Demarco Stepter missed a layup with three seconds to play that would have tied the game and Gibson failed to convert a tip-in at the buzzer.
Eastern Kentucky shot an even 50 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from long range. The Colonels scored 21 points off 12 UTSA turnovers.
