Gray, Cook lead No. 4 Pittsburgh to rout of Delaware State

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Aaron Gray had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead No. 4 Pittsburgh past Delaware State, 67-50, at Petersen Events Center.

Mike Cook added 13 points and Levon Kendall and Antonio Graves each chipped in 10 points for the Panthers (2-0), who opened their season last Sunday with a 86-67 romp of Western Michigan.

Aaron Fleetwood had 10 points and seven rebounds and Jahsha Bluntt added 10 points for the Hornets (1-1), who began a stretch of 13 consecutive road games.

The Hornets scored the first two points of the game, but after that it was all Pittsburgh.

The Panthers went on a 12-1 run to assume command of the game. Grey scored seven points during the burst.

A three-pointer by Mark D'Agostino and two free throws by Bluntt got Delaware State to within 14-11, but Pitt scored the next nine points to again take a double-digit lead.

A trey in the final seconds by Levance Fields staked the Panthers to a 37-27 lead at halftime.

The closest the Hornets got in the second half was when Troy Roundtree drained a three-pointer less than a minute in to make it a 39-30 game.

The Panthers, though, scored the next six points and were never seriously threatened the remainder of the contest.

Game Notes
