Longhorns trottle Prairie View

Austin, TX (Sports Network) - P.J. Tucker had a game-high 26 points and added 11 rebounds and six assists, as the 15th-ranked Texas Longhorns trampled Prairie View A&M, 110-38, at the Frank Erwin Center.

LaMarcus Aldridge posted a double-double with 20 points and 16 boards and Brad Buckman also had 20 points for the Longhorns (10-2), who improved to 7-1 on their home floor.

Texas opened the game on a 12-2 run, which was capped by a Aldridge slam with 12:48 remaining in the first half.

The Longhorns continued to pour it on from there, as A.J. Abrams and Tucker combined for 15 points in a span of just over seven minutes to help increase the lead to 35-10 with 4:37 to play.

Scott made a bucket for Prairie View seconds later to halt a 16-0 Texas burst, but Kenton Paulino quickly followed with a three-pointer to push the Longhorns edge to 26 points.

Texas took a 49-16 advantage into halftime. Buckman led all scorers with 13 points at the break, while Tucker poured in 12 on 4-of-4 shooting.

The Longhorns continued to hammer the Panthers in the second half and went up by 52 points, 82-30, on an Aldridge jumper midway through the stanza.

That disparity jumped to 71 points with 2:37 to play on a Tucker layup.
