Final Score: Tennessee State 88, Morehead State 75

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Jordan Cyphers scored 23 points as the fourth-seeded Tennessee State Tigers advanced past the fifth-seeded Morehead State Eagles, 88-75, in an Ohio Valley Conference quarterfinal matchup at Nashville Municipal Auditorium.

Robert Covington added 21 points and eight rebounds and Patrick Miller and Kellen Thornton each had 15 points for Tennessee State (18-13). Miller also handed out 10 assists for his third double-double of the season.

Drew Kelly had 16 points and seven rebounds, Angelo Warner registered 15 points and seven boards and Milton Chavis chipped in 12 points for Morehead State (15-18).

In the first half the Tigers shot at a 50 percent clip, while holding the Eagles to just 34.5 percent shooting, to take a 41-30 lead into the break.

After halftime the Eagles improved to 50 percent shooting but the Tigers nailed five shots from long range and 14-of-18 from the free-throw line to coast to the victory.

Tennessee State will take on top-seed Belmont in Friday's semifinals.

Final Score: Eastern Kentucky 84, Southeast Missouri State 69

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Eric Stutz hung up a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds as the third-seeded Eastern Kentucky Colonels eased by the sixth-seeded Southeast Missouri State Redhawks, 84-69, in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament at Municipal Auditorium.

Orlando Williams scored 14 points off the bench. Corey Walden added 12 points and Mike DiNunno had 10 points for Eastern Kentucky (24-8) which will take on No. 2 seed Murray State in the conference semifinals.

Nino Johnson had 18 points, Tyler Stone registered 14 and Nick Niemczyk and Marland Smith tallied 12 apiece for SEMO (17-16).

Though they shot just 33.3 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes the Colonels led 39-331 at the break by nailing 15-of-19 shots from the free-throw line.

Eastern Kentucky continued to get to the line in the second half when it got 22 points from the charity stripe while shooting 45.8 percent from the field overall.

The Redhawks connected on just 39.1 percent of their shots from the field and were outrebounded, 41-34.
